Hi, I’m Priti (pronounced Pree-thi) founder and owner of Priti Sweet Weddings. Being born and raised in Chicago my name was always pronounced “Pretty” by anyone that was not Indian. I guess it’s easier to pronounce and I’m not going to lie, who doesn’t want to be called pretty?! I decided to use it to my advantage and named my event planning business “Priti Sweet Weddings,” after all weddings are pretty sweet! I’ve been working in the corporate world, specifically project management, for over 16 years. I love project management in the financial industry, yet it does not allow me to use my creativity and my passion for decor. In 2004, I decided to go into event planning and follow my dream of planning weddings, social events and corporate events. I have so many favorites of planning an event – the negotiating and trying to get my clients the best deals, the hours spent on planning the design and decor (I love decorating and designing my home as well), using my creativity for the little touches and of course the food tasting to make each event one of a kind!
I work with many different styles. I can throw a glamorous wedding with crystals and lush pale pink and ivory floral with leafy greenery. At the same time, I can keep it rustic and simple with wooden tables, clear chairs, gold candelabras with minimal flowers and greenery for a Restoration Hardware type of look! It is my job to understand YOUR vision and bring it to life. I’ve done all types of weddings, including ethnic weddings, destination weddings, corporate events, political events, birthdays, anniversaries, bridal and baby showers.
